Come loading for a day at the home of English game shooting they said! Well what a place, the home of The Earl of Leicester who greeted the guns on the front of the hall by the fountain that was in full flow, providing the briefing for the day "we have one of the best populations of English Partridge in the world" the Earl was not wrong wave after wave of the greys appeared over the hedges on each drive & the guns as instructed remained silent. The shoot whilst being famous is also one of the countries leading conservation locations, to see the birds fly in covey after covey was a sight to behold. The team of guns for the day had travelled across the Atlantic for the weekend & enjoyed a great days sport with 2 more estates to visit before returning home, think they will go away with a very high opinion of English conservation at its best.
Well worth a visit & there is a visitor centre with comprehensive facilities.
